The history of Buddhist art since its beginnings will be presented for the first time in the Czech Republic in an exhibition organized by the National Gallery Prague and the Museum Rietberg Zurich. It will be the first opportunity to see masterpieces of Buddhist art created between the second and twentieth centuries from the collections of the Museum Rietberg Zurich and the National Gallery Prague. In addition to the major works of art that will be on show the exhibition will also employ multimedia features to guide visitors through different thematic chapters of this subject and introduce them to the origins and spread of Buddhism in the cultures of Asia and to the symbolic meanings of Buddhist art.
